This week for our Disney Dinner & A Movie Night we watched the animated version of The Jungle Book. I’ve always loved The Jungle Book and I was hopeful that my daughter, who really likes movies with animals in them, would love it too!
For dinner I made Pesto Jungle Vines with Man’s Red Flower. Now you might be wondering, what the heck is that? Honestly, it’s the easiest recipe you will ever make and it is delicious. To make the jungle vines you will just need angel hair pasta and your favorite pesto (I always use Buitoni). Cook your angel hair according to the package and then, once it’s cooked and drained, toss with a tablespoon of pesto. To make “man’s red flower” I first watched a YouTube video (hahaha) and then I cut a tomato into the shape of a flower. It was actually so easy and turned out way better than I thought it would!
For dessert I made King Louie’s Banana Pudding and it was amazing! I’ve found that the key to making good banana pudding is using shortbread cookies. The shortbread cookies seem to keep their crunch a longer and taste delicious.
The pasta, banana pudding and movie were all a hit with my family! I actually had to throw away the extra banana pudding or we probably would have eaten it all night.
I look forward to our movie nights every week and I hope that this inspires you to create some fun memories with your family!
Sending love and magic.
Love this! Did you leave the tomato raw or broil it with a sprinkle of Parmesan? Think about taking any extra dessert to a neighbor! You might be an answer to a dessert prayer! π€£
I put salt and pepper on it and broiled it!
