Last night, for our Disney Dinner & A Movie Night, we watched one of my favorite movies, 101 Dalmatians. I have been looking forward to watching this movie because my daughter is obsessed with dogs. Her love for dogs run so deep that her favorite parts of the film, Peter Pan, were the scenes with Nana (the dog). I had a feeling she would love this movie.
After brainstorming a few ideas for our meal, I decided that dinner would be simple. I made homemade mini “paw-pperoni” pizzas that were not only cute but delicious. To make this pizza, I used store-bought pizza dough, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperonis. They were easy to make, and my daughter was so excited that there were paw prints on her pizza.
If you have ever seen the movie 101 Dalmatians, you know that the puppies’ favorite snack is Kanine Krunchies. We needed to make our own Kanine Krunchies! To do this, I used a basic puppy chow recipe and then added some Cocoa Puffs cereal. I thought I would share this recipe because it was such a big hit in our house.
To make Kanine Krunchies you will need:
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups Rice Chex Cereal
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup Cocoa Puffs Cereal
Start by melting your chocolate chips and peanut butter in the microwave. I like to heat in 30-second increments, stirring in between until completely melted. Once your chocolate peanut butter mixture is melted, slowly stir in Chex Mix until coated. Allow Chex Mix to cool down for 15 minutes.
Once cool, put coated Chex Mix into a gallon size Ziploc bag and add powdered sugar. Shake bag until powdered sugar is evenly dispersed. Pour mix into a bowl and stir in Cocoa Puff cereal. Enjoy!
My husband and daughter literally could not stop eating this snack mix all night long! No surprise, my daughter loved 101 Dalmatians and our dinner. We had such a long week so having a quick and simple meal made our night so much more enjoyable.
Our movie nights have become our favorite night of the week and I can’t wait to continue this tradition. Leave a comment below and let me know what movie we should do next week.
Sending love and magic.
