Jungle Cruise Snack Board

Are you ready for an amazing Amazon adventure? Disney’s new movie, Jungle Cruise, is available TODAY to purchase on Digital and will be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD on November 16. To celebrate this movie starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, I threw together a Skipper-friendly snack board that is more jaw-dropping than the “backside of water.”

If you have set sail on the classic ride The Jungle Cruise at Disneyland or Disney World, you know that the ride is full of twists, turns, and a lot of corny jokes. The movie Jungle Cruise is all that and so much more, and I wanted my board to represent it well. I grabbed a mixture of sweet and salty snacks (mostly sweet, let’s be honest) that looked like things you might find in the jungle. I was able to grab everything at my local grocery store and of all the Jungle Cruise boards you can make in the Amazon, this one is undoubtedly the cheapest.

One of my favorite things that I made to put on the board is donuts inspired by the life preservers that you find on each Jungle Cruise boat. To create these, I grabbed plain, glazed donuts, white frosting, and red icing. First, I iced the glazed donuts with the white icing, and then I added eight evenly spaced lines around the donut with my red icing. Finally, I filled in every other space with red icing and created the perfect little life preserver. These donuts would be great for so many occasions or birthday party themes.

Another thing that I made for this board is little hippo cookies. I made the hippos out of Nutter Butter Cookies, Goldfish, Cheerios, white icing, and candy eyeballs. I opened up each Nutter Butter Cookie sandwich and placed two Goldfish inside for the hippo’s ears. Then, using the white icing, I added two Cheerios for nostrils and two candy eyeballs. They look like just the thing that I would “shoo” away if I were a Jungle Cruise Skipper.

When I finally put the snack board together, I found a tropical-looking tray and added some fake banana leaves to the bottom of it. I placed a tiny Jungle Cruise boat (that I got at the Tropical Hideaway in Disneyland), my life preserver donuts, and hippos on the tray and then added a mix of sweet and salty snacks and gummy candy. The “rocks” you see on the board are actually salted mixed nuts, but some people just take them for granite. You might even notice a small candy river inspired by Schweitzer Falls, named for the famous explorer, Dr. Albert Falls.

Hopefully this board will inspire you go deeper and deeper into the jungle and take a riveting ride through the Amazon with Disney’s Jungle Cruise. Make sure that you purchase the movie on Digital today and check out all of the fun Jungle Cruise Bonus Features.

Sending love and magic.
