Today is the first day of EPCOT Festival of the Arts, which, if you didn’t know, is my very favorite festival at Disney World! Festival of the Arts is an event that runs from January 14, 2022 – February 21, 2022, and allows you to explore visual arts, performing arts, and culinary arts. Although I am not there today, I wanted to share a fun treat that I created inspired by the Festival of the Arts.
At the Refreshment Port at Epcot, you can find Artist Palette Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookie, one of the festival’s most popular treats. I decided to recreate this treat at home in the form of a giant cookie cake!
To make this cookie cake, you will need:
cookie dough (I used store-bought, but you could also use homemade)
vanilla frosting
food coloring (red, yellow, and blue)
9-inch springform pan
circle cookie cutter (or in my case, a wine glass)
To start, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease your 9-inch springform pan.
Gently press the cookie dough into the pan, creating a nice, even 1-inch layer across the bottom. Bake in the oven for 22 minutes.
Once your cake is done baking and cooled, use a circle cookie cutter (or a wine glass) and gently press a circle shape into the cookie cake. Remove the circle that you cut to allow your cookie cake to look like a palette.
Divide your vanilla frosting into 3 bowls and dye each bowl of frosting a different color (I used red, yellow, and blue but you can use any colors). Drop a dollop of each colored frosting onto your cookie cake to look like paint.
If you want to have some fun, add a small paintbrush to allow your kids to paint with the frosting.
I hope you enjoy this cookie cake as much as we did! Sending love and magic.
