This post is in partnership with Disney on Ice. I was provided complimentary tickets. All thoughts are my own.
Last week we were invited to attend Disney on Ice Dream Big on their opening night in San Antonio, Texas at the Alamodome. This was Brooklyn’s first time seeing a Disney on Ice show, and we had the best time experiencing the magic of Disney so close to home.
Disney on Ice: Dream Big tells the stories of some of our favorite characters and princesses and how their dreams come true. This show is split into two 45 minutes halves, with a 15-minute intermission. The performers are incredibly talented, and the show features acrobatics, skating, and even pyrotechnics.
Act One
The show starts with our favorite fairy, Tinkerbell, as she enters the arena and sprinkles magic all around. Mickey and Minnie then follow and are seen throughout the show sharing the stories of each character. The first scene is in Agrabah with Aladdin and Jasmine, followed with appearances by Belle, Rapunzel, and Moana.
The show’s first half ends “under the sea” with the Little Mermaid herself, Ariel.
The 15-minute intermission is an excellent time for potty breaks and snacks. Please be aware that they sell light-up toys and bubbles in the arena, and your children WILL want you to buy them, haha.
Act Two
The show’s second half starts with Tinkerbell, Minnie, Mickey, and their friend Goofy who announces a royal ball. Seconds later, you witness Cinderella’s carriage make its way onto the ice. After Cinderella, there is a scene from Sleeping Beauty with a Maleficent turning into an actual fire-breathing dragon, followed by a performance featuring Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen.
Next, comes a new part of this show, a scene from the movie Coco. I found this part of the show to be my favorite part of all. Disney on Ice: Dream Big ends with Anna and Elsa, and scenes from the movie Frozen.
Disney on Ice: Dream Big is a fantastic show that kept my three-year-old’s attention from start to finish. You will find yourself entranced with the performance and singing along with the music. Brooklyn had the best time watching her favorite Disney characters and princesses ice skate and also loved eating cotton candy and staying up way past her bedtime.
Make sure to get tickets to the next Disney on Ice show near you; you will not regret it! Thank you so much for inviting us Disney on Ice.
Sending love and magic.
