Last week I had the opportunity to go check out SeaWorld’s Seven Seas Food Festival, and, I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect. As it turns out, I was VERY impressed, and today I will tell you everything you need to know before you go check out this culinary festival!

SeaWorld’s San Antonio’s Seven Seas Food Festival is a culinary adventure through 10 countries with over 60 food items and 50 beer, wine, and cocktail selections. The food booths are spread throughout SeaWorld’s park and include unique entertainment and photo opportunities. This year you will also find the NEW Cookies with Cookie Monster event, where kids (and adults) can enjoy cookies with their favorite blue monster.

My SeaWorld day began at Lone Star Bar out on the water. I was greeted with a cocktail (Aloha Beaches from the Hawaii Booth – so good) and had an opportunity to meet SeaWorld’s Executive Chef, Scott Ronczkowski. From the moment Scott introduced himself, you could see how passionate he was about the food he created for SeaWorld and this event.

Something that stood out to me as he talked about the creation of this event is that San Antonio is a military city, and many of SeaWorld’s guests are military who possibly have been stationed in Korea or Germany. For Scott, that means he takes pride in creating authentic menus and knows he has to really rock the food he is making.

After meeting with Scott, we set out to try the booths ourselves. From the Hula Dog at the Hawaii Booth (my favorite food of the entire festival), to made-to-order crepes at the France Booth, to coconut rum cocktails at the Jamaica Booth, there were SO many foods and drinks to try. I enjoyed every single thing that I had to eat and drink. The event also feels so fun and unique because you’re in the middle of a theme park, surrounded by roller coasters.

Not only was I impressed with the food I tried, but I was also impressed with the gluten-free and vegetarian options and the use of sustainable seafood. The quality and flavors are something other than what you would expect from a theme park. SeaWorld offers a Sample Pass, which I highly recommend getting if you attend the festival. The Sample Pass allows you to try 10 or 15 foods or drinks and gives you the most bang for your buck.

Overall, I left SeaWorld stuffed full and planning to return to try more things. With ten countries, authentic foods from each, and the theme park atmosphere, there is no other food festival like this in Texas.

SeaWorld’s Seven Seas Food Festival runs now until May 21. Don’t miss it!

Sending love and magic.
